The order of makeup

There are many stages to make-up, which are generally grouped into two parts: the complexion and the eyes. A question rages among make-up enthusiasts: the complexion before or after the eyes? Just like the question of cereal before or after milk, I would say that everyone has to decide for themselves. But to help you make up your own mind I've listed below some of the advantages I've found with both methods. I would advise you to do your lips at the end of your make-up, or at least after your complexion as the corners of your mouth will already be covered and this will prevent your lipstick from fraying.

Advantages of doing the complexion before the eyes

  • I find that the connection between the dark circle and the lower eyelid is more successful and easier to do.

Benefits of doing eyes before complexion

  • Allows certain make-up techniques using tape

  • Reduces the risk of staining your complexion due to falling pigments (which can however be gently removed with a large soft brush)

  • Comfort by being able to take pressure on your face without risking damaging your complexion (you can however attach a puff to your palm which will preserve your complexion)

Now it's up to you to try out both techniques and choose which one you're most comfortable with. Especially since in reality they are equivalent in advantages/defects since there are techniques erasing the defects of making your complexion before your eyes

Personally, I always do my complexion first, which is why you'll find it in the same order in the search bar.

As for the lips I would advise doing them last regardless of the order you chose for the first two steps. Indeed it is easier to do them last to have a clean demarcation with the complexion and quite simply not to interfere with your presses during the eye step. In addition, some people like to put a layer of foundation on their lips before applying lipstick, so it will automatically have to be done after the complexion.

So, are you more of the complexion before or after the eyes?🧐🤔
